Why Africa?
While the African continent is well known throughout the world for being the poorest, hungriest, and least developed in the world, Africa is home to a wealth of resources—its most important and vibrant resource being its people. We believe that by empowering Africans to think "outside the development box" that they will establish their own direction to better their lives and their communities.
However, the growing HIV/AIDS pandemic threatens families and communities all over the continent, and African orphans resulting from the epidemic are expected to reach 40 million by 2015. While these numbers can be overwhelming, we see it as a call to action that is more important now than ever to engage African communities in education and community building to catch the fall for the destabilizing power of HIV/AIDS.
