First things first
Bola Moyo was first formed in response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. But as we grew in our experiences and knowledge, we quickly began to recognize this disease's complex relationship with hunger and food security, women's rights, poverty, and cultural forces etc.
Because we're a small and new nonprofit, we've decided to focus the pulse of our efforts on youth, and the things they need to grow into responsible and mindful young adults.
Bola Moyo is all about relationships. We don't build big buildings, we don't have any long acronyms to describe what we're doing (and we call ourselves an NGO), and our programs are certainly not flashy. We aren't looking to "save Africa" or even Malawi, and we don't mind that we can't list off a managerial list of our top 10 objectives and the specific paths we're taking to achieve them.
We're really about getting to know people and their collective community, learning their needs, helping them assess their resources, encouraging discussion, and seeing what organically comes about. So far, what's come about, is the start of young leader's development program. Please read more by using the links above!
