Desirée Cooper, Former Executive Assistant
Desirée is a senior at Portland State University majoring in Community Development with an emphasis on Economic Development.  She developed a keen interest in development issues in Africa when she interned for the Amy Biehl Foundation in South Africa several years ago. She spent Summer 2007 working with us as Executive Assistant after completing her internship with Bola moyo. She will spend several months this winter and fall interning and teaching at a community center in rural coastal Kenya, and afterward will join her husband in England where he is attending graduate school. She aspires to work in the field of development and human rights advocacy in sub-Saharan Africa.  She loves travel, film, hiking, and her husband (not necessarily in that order).
